The time which never stops running has finally brought us to the end of the year. Lots of events happened. Even we know that every day is not always good, but still, all the ups and downs have given and filled us with many valuable lessons.

Then what should we do? Time cannot be turned back because it is exactly not necessary. What we can do now is to review everything that we have experienced this year. Let us make all the goods and bads as fuel to be our new selves and our better selves than before in the hopeful new year.

There are some questions which can help you to self-reflect:

1. What moments were good this year?

Let’s start with something good. In this section you can make a list of any good things that you experience. It could be an achievement, an accomplished life goal, a gift or surprise, etc. After you find those beautiful moments, you must be grateful and you can thank yourself for everything you have worked so far.

2. What moments were not good this year?

In life, of course, not everything is good. There must be times when you feel disappointed, sad or even angry about something that happened. You may feel like you do not want to remember it again. But actually, if we can look at it from a different perspective, we will find many lessons that prepare us to anticipate the tomorrows.

3. What things did you do right?

In this section you can write down any things that you have done and that made you proud of yourself. No need to think for something big, just appreciate the effort you have done even if you think it is only a small thing. You may have worked hard to get good marks on your final exam, you may have listened to your friend’s personal story and it made her happy, or you have opened your personal blog and published your first article. Of course, there will be many things that make you proud of yourself.

4. What mistakes did you make?

Humans bound to make mistakes and it is natural. Write down any mistakes you have made. From here, you can learn not to repeat the same mistakes in the future.

5. What can you learn more about to make yourself better?

After you make a list of what things are in the previous points, now is the time for you to write down what lessons you can take from all of them. You can make all those valuable lessons a provision for you to become a better person in the future.

After your self-discussion, hopefully you will feel grateful for all the blessings you have experienced this year and become individuals who are ready to welcome the new year that will come soon. Thanks for being you. You are amazing cause you did it!
